Third Age Total War Divide And Conquer Units: A Guide for Beginners
Third Age Total War is a popular mod for Medieval II: Total War that recreates the world of Middle-earth during the time of the Lord of the Rings. Divide and Conquer is a submod for Third Age Total War that adds many new factions, units, events, and features to the game. In this article, we will give you an overview of some of the units that you can recruit and use in your campaigns as different factions.
Good Factions
The good factions are those that oppose the evil forces of Sauron and his allies. They include the Dúnedain of the North and South, the Elves of various realms, the Dwarves of different mountains, and the Northmen of Dale, Dorwinion, Anduin, and Bree. Each good faction has its own strengths and weaknesses, as well as unique units that reflect their culture and history.
Dúnedain
The Dúnedain are the descendants of the Númenóreans who survived the downfall of their island kingdom. They are divided into two factions: the Kingdom of Gondor in the south and the Northern Dúnedain in the north. Both factions have access to well-trained and well-armored infantry and cavalry units, such as Gondor Infantry, Fountain Guard, Swan Knights, Dúnedain Rangers, Grey Company, and Dúnedain Knights. They also have some elite units that require special buildings or events to unlock, such as Citadel Guard, Osgiliath Veterans, Númenórean Royal Guard, and Knights of Annuminas.
Elves
The Elves are the firstborn children of Ilúvatar who have lived in Middle-earth since the dawn of time. They are divided into four factions: the High Elves of Lindon and Imladris, the Woodland Realm of Mirkwood, the Realm of Lothlórien, and the Avari Elves who live in Dorwinion. All Elven factions have access to highly skilled and agile archers and swordsmen units, such as Lindon Guardians, Imladris Swordmasters, Mirkwood Sentinels, Galadhrim Warriors, and Avari Archers. They also have some unique units that require special buildings or events to unlock, such as Noldorin Nobles, Imladris Guardians, Mirkwood Royal Guard, Galadhrim Royal Guard, and Avari Shadow Warriors.
Dwarves
The Dwarves are a sturdy and industrious race that dwell in the mountains of Middle-earth. They are divided into three factions: the Dwarves of Khazad-dûm who reclaimed their ancient home from the Balrog, the Dwarves of Erebor & Iron Hills who restored their kingdom under the Lonely Mountain, and the Dwarves of Ered Luin who live in the Blue Mountains. All Dwarven factions have access to strong and resilient infantry units that can withstand enemy charges and missile fire, such as Khazad-dûm Reclaimers, Erebor Warriors, Ered Luin Axemen, Iron Guard, Dragon Slayers, and Khazad-dûm Nobles. They also have some unique units that require special buildings or events to unlock, such as Khazad-dûm Guardians, Erebor Legionnaires, Ered Luin Blunderbusses, Ballista Crews, Catapult Crews, and Siege Engineers.
Northmen
The Northmen are a diverse group of Men who live in various regions of Middle-earth. They are divided into five factions: the Kingdom of Dale who rule over Dale and Esgaroth on Long Lake; Vale of Dorwinion who cultivate vineyards on both sides of Celduin river; Anduin Vale who live along Anduin river; Bree-land and The Shire who inhabit peaceful lands west of Misty Mountains; Kingdom of Rohan who ride horses on plains of Rohan. All Northmen factions have access to decent infantry and cavalry units that can fight in various terrains and situations; such as Dale Swordsmen; Dorwinion Spearmen; Anduin Hunters; Bree Militia; Hobbit Archers; Rohan Riders; etc. They also have some unique units that require special buildings or events to unlock a474f39169
